Construction Plant & Machinery Engineer / Manager

Role & responsibilities

focuses on the maintenance, repair, installation, and management of equipment used in construction projects, including earth-moving machinery, concrete equipment, and heavy vehicles

Key Responsibilities

• Equipment Maintenance:

  Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of various equipment, such as batching plants, tower cranes, concrete mixers, pavers, and earth-moving machines like excavators, loaders, and bulldozers.

• Hydraulic Systems:

  Repair and maintain hydraulic equipment, a common component in construction machinery.

• Procurement and Spares Management:

  Identify vendors for necessary spares and equipment, and manage the inventory of spare parts and materials to ensure availability for maintenance.

• Project Support:

  Handle infrastructure requirements like construction power and water supply installations for projects.

• Safety and Compliance:

  Adhere to ISO procedures, established safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe machinery operation and compliance with industry standards.

• Technical Expertise:

  Understand engineering drawings, prepare technical comparison statements for equipment assets, and manage maintenance budgets.

• Problem Solving:

  Investigate, test, and implement solutions for machinery problems to improve existing systems and ensure reliability.

• Reporting and Documentation:

  Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on equipment performance, maintenance activities, and inspection results.

• Educational Background:

  A Bachelor's or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is often required.

• Experience:

  Hands-on experience with construction equipment maintenance, including earth-moving equipment, concrete plants, and heavy vehicles.

• Technical Skills:

  Proficiency in maintenance and repair of various heavy equipment, including knowledge of hydraulic systems and construction equipment operations.

• Project Management:

  Ability to handle projects, manage teams, and coordinate with various stakeholders, including subcontractors and suppliers.

• Safety Awareness:

  A strong understanding of safety regulations and the ability to implement safety protocols on site.
