Job Purpose:

To shape the Foundations voice and strengthen its visibility through dignified storytelling, compelling communications, and external engagement. This role ensures that our impact is communicated authentically, balancing evidence with human narratives, and that our communications reflect the Foundations values of equity, transparency and quality over scale.

Key Accountabilities:

Strategy & Management

  • Develop and implement communication strategies aligned with the Foundations mission and values.
  • Manage digital presence including social media platforms, website, and online campaigns.
  • Ensure all messaging reflects dignity, avoids tokenism, and highlights systemic change alongside human stories.

Content Creation & Storytelling

  • Produce impactful content: case studies, reports, newsletters, podcasts, videos, interviews, and articles.
  • Coordinate with program and MEL teams to gather photos, videos, testimonials, and data from the field.
  • Translate program data into engaging narratives for donors, partners, policymakers, and the public.
  • Document events and initiatives with photos, videos, and written reports.

External Engagement

  • Lead award nominations, press releases, and media outreach.
  • Create donor and stakeholder engagement materials that demonstrate depth of impact.
  • Oversee translation and localization of reports and communication materials to reach communities in their own languages.
  • Build relationships with journalists, thought leaders, and platforms that can amplify the Foundations work.

Experience & Skills:

  • 1 - 2 years in communications, journalism, or non-profit storytelling.
  • Excellent writing, digital content creation, and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to translate program data and technical reports into engaging, accessible content.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable engaging with multiple stakeholders.
