Job Description

Role Overview: Imagine being part of a dynamic team at the forefront of innovation in fluid-flow technology at Armstrong Fluid Technology. With over 1,400 colleagues worldwide, you will contribute to a legacy of excellence across eight manufacturing facilities on four continents. As a Commodity Manager, you will play a crucial role in leading sourcing activities for the casting and machining category, collaborating with key stakeholders and driving sustainable supplier strategies. Key Responsibilities: - Develop comprehensive category-specific short-term & long-term strategies in collaboration with key stakeholders. - Implement sustainable supplier strategies aligning with business needs by evaluating the current supplier landscape, capacity, capability, and competitiveness. - Create and implement category-specific cost models and cost-driver visibility. - Manage supplier performance and drive improvement initiatives with cross-functional business partners. - Lead global cost reduction initiatives, conduct cost benchmarking, and implement annual cost reduction plans. - Ensure compliance to governance and best practices in sourcing, supplier selection, and cost evaluation processes. - Support new product development initiatives by evaluating new suppliers and capabilities. - Provide critical supply solutions as needed for plant operations. Qualification Required: - Bachelors degree in Engineering. - College Diploma in Supply Chain Management considered an asset. - Supply Chain Management Certification (SCMP), ISM certification, or ASCM certification preferred. - 10-12 years of experience in procurement and category management in industrial/manufacturing sectors. - Minimum three years of global sourcing and category management experience. - Hands-on experience in cost management, supplier management, and risk mitigation. - Proficiency in ERP systems, specifically in industrial manufacturing settings. - Experience in working with system-based categorization and producing procurement-specific reports. - Direct experience with high-impact casting commodity and knowledge of raw metal alloys. - Demonstrated ability to collaborate in multi-site settings and international supply chain environment. - Strong data analytic capabilities and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, and people-management experience.
