As the Commodity Manager based in Bangalore, India, you will play a key role in leading sourcing activities for the casting and machining category, collaborating with Category Leaders and sourcing specialists. Key Responsibilities: - **Strategy Development:** - Develop comprehensive short-term & long-term strategies for the casting and machining category in alignment with key stakeholders. - Create sustainable supplier strategies based on evaluations of the current supplier landscape, capacity, capability, and competitiveness. - Establish category-specific cost models and ensure visibility of cost drivers. - Identify and mitigate supplier, commodity, and procurement market risks continuously. - **Supplier Management:** - Enhance supplier performance through engagement with cross-functional partners to drive improvement initiatives. - Continuously assess and mitigate supplier, commodity, and procurement market risks. - **Cost Management & Competitiveness:** - Lead global cost reduction efforts and conduct regular cost benchmarking for market competitiveness. - Implement annual cost reduction initiatives and drive supplier consolidation to simplify the supply chain. - **Compliance and Governance:** - Ensure full compliance with governance and sourcing best practices related to supplier selection, cost evaluation, and approval processes. - **New Product Development Support:** - Participate in new product development initiatives by evaluating new suppliers and their capabilities. - **Operational Support:** - Understand plant operations and provide critical supply solutions as required. Qualifications Required: - **Education and Experience:** - Bachelor's degree in Engineering. - College Diploma in Supply Chain Management is an advantage. - Certification such as SCMP, ISM, or ASCM is highly preferred. - 10-12 years of procurement and category experience in industrial/manufacturing sectors. - Minimum three years of global sourcing and category management experience. - **Technical Skills:** - Hands-on experience in implementing best practices for cost management, supplier management, and risk mitigation. - Proficiency with ERP systems, particularly in industrial manufacturing settings. - Experience in system-based categorization and producing procurement reports. - Direct involvement with high-impact casting commodities and knowledge of raw metal alloys preferred. - Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in international supply chain environments and strong data analytic capabilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. - **Soft Skills:** - Ability to work independently and within a team in a time-sensitive environment. - Self-motivated to achieve annual goals and objectives. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong interpersonal skills and experience in people management.
