Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Commis for Bakery and Dessert section to support the bakery team in producing high-quality breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked goods.

Key Responsibilities: Commi 1

  • Assist in preparing, baking, and finishing breads, pastries, cakes, and desserts under supervision.
  • Follow recipes, portioning guidelines, and quality standards consistently.
  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and hygiene in the bakery section at all times.
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients and baked goods.
  • Assist in daily mise en place (preparation) and stock rotation.
  • Support the Chef de Partie and Pastry team in day-to-day bakery operations.
  • Adhere to food safety, hygiene, and HACCP guidelines strictly.
  • Report any equipment faults or shortages of ingredients to the supervisor.
  • Take initiative to learn new techniques and contribute ideas for bakery products.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen (hotel, café, or bakery).
  • Basic knowledge of baking techniques, bread preparation, and pastry fundamentals.
  • Culinary or bakery/pastry diploma preferred.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work efficiently in a team.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

Commi 2

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of ingredients for bakery production (measuring, mixing, portioning).
  • Support Commis I and senior bakers in baking and finishing products.
  • Maintain cleanliness, order, and hygiene in the bakery section at all times.
  • Properly store, label, and rotate raw materials and baked items.
  • Follow standard recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Assist in daily mise en place under supervision.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP).
  • Handle basic bakery equipment safely and report any faults immediately.
  • Show willingness to learn and develop skills under the guidance of seniors.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a bakery, pastry shop, or culinary environment
  • Basic knowledge of bakery ingredients and baking processes.
  • Certificate or diploma in bakery, pastry, or culinary arts preferred (not mandatory).
  • Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to hygiene, cleanliness, and detail.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
