Job Description: As a Kitchen Assistant at Mercure Chennai Sriperumbudur, your main responsibility will be to ensure the smooth functioning of the kitchen by stocking up raw materials and ingredients on a daily basis. You will be required to have a good understanding of all electrical and mechanical equipment in the kitchen, adhering to safety guidelines while using them. Your role will involve mastering basic cooking methods such as ingredient preparation and daily mis-en-place for your assigned station. Following standard recipe cards accurately, you must maintain portion control and minimize wastage to ensure quality food production. It is crucial to uphold the hotel's food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) at all times. Regular cleaning and maintenance of all equipment within the food production area will be part of your daily tasks. Additionally, you are expected to promptly report any hazards, unsafe working conditions, or equipment in need of repair or maintenance to your immediate supervisor.
