Commi 1 – Fondant Cake

Job Summary:

The Commi 1 – Fondant Cake is responsible for assisting in the preparation, design, and decoration of fondant cakes as per recipes and customer requirements. This role demands creativity, precision, and attention to detail to ensure high-quality and visually appealing cake presentations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation, baking, and decoration of cakes, especially fondant-based designs
• Create fondant figures, shapes, and themes based on standard templates and custom orders
• Ensure proper handling and storage of fondant, gum paste, and decorative materials
• Maintain consistency in taste, texture, and decoration quality of cakes
• Assist in mise-en-place and daily prep for fondant cake orders
• Follow hygiene and food safety standards as per FSSAI or HACCP guidelines
• Assist senior chefs in complex designs and learn advanced techniques
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workstation and tools
• Follow portion control and minimize wastage
• Ensure timely delivery of orders and support with display cakes when needed

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in cake decoration, preferably with fondant
• Basic knowledge of baking and pastry fundamentals
• Skilled in rolling, molding, cutting, and assembling fondant decorations
• Artistic sense and creativity in cake presentation
• Ability to work in a team and under pressure during peak hours
• Flexibility with shift timings and order demands
