Commercialization & IA Associate

Role Overview: As a Commercialization & IA Associate in Bengaluru, your primary role will be to support and maintain Intellectual Asset strategies aligned with business and technology objectives. You will collaborate with the IA portfolio lead to identify potential impacts of external competitive trends in intellectual assets. Your responsibilities will include maintaining and identifying IP risks in complex technology development and deals, supporting the IAM Lead on Freedom to Operate reviews, and managing key contracts with suppliers on IP terms and commercial terms. Key Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the IAM portfolio lead to develop detailed IA strategies for each tech priority area. - Support Commercialization principles with contract needs, especially on bespoke projects with startups. - Develop governance, training material, guides, and toolkits, and support business functions such as Ventures. - Maintain and update patent portfolio reviews regularly to ensure alignment with tech roadmaps and business strategy. - Lead and facilitate ideation sessions for innovation capture and drive triage decisions. Qualifications Required: - Experience in a technology/commercial role involving development/management of intellectual assets. - Solid understanding of IAM principles in the context of contracts and technology portfolio development. - Familiarity with key contract terms related to licenses, technology transfer, JV agreements, partner collaboration, or joint development and exploitation of technology. - Broad and strategic knowledge of the global technology landscape, particularly in areas relevant to oil & gas, low carbon energy, and digital technologies. - Proven ability to think creatively and strategically, handle sophisticated issues, and work comfortably with uncertainty and ambiguity. - Extensive experience supporting technology teams in IA strategy development and delivery, in line with business requirements. - Strong negotiation skills, prioritization abilities, and proficiency in navigating competing demands and solving complex problems. - Ability to achieve results through influencing without direct authority, innovate, think laterally, make connections, and overcome barriers effectively.
