Job Description of Coating operator

A pharmaceutical Coating Operator is responsible for operating machinery to apply coatings to pharmaceutical products like tablets and granules, ensuring compliance with cGMP and SOPs. This involves preparing coating solutions, setting up and adjusting equipment, monitoring the process, and documenting activities. The operator also maintains equipment and reports any issues, contributing to the efficient and safe production of coated pharmaceutical products.

Key Responsibilities:

· Equipment Operation:

Operating, adjusting, and maintaining coating machines according to production batch records and SOPs.

· Solution Preparation:

Weighing and mixing coating ingredients to prepare solutions for application.

· Process Monitoring:

Visually inspecting the machine and mixers during operation, taking in-process measurements, and verifying that tablets meet specifications.

· Documentation:

Maintaining logbooks and records of all setup, cleaning, and in-process measurements.

· Cleaning and Maintenance:

Cleaning and disassembling equipment after runs, ensuring proper maintenance and reporting any issues.

· CGMP Compliance:

Adhering to cGMP and SOPs throughout the coating process.

· Problem Solving:

Identifying and addressing minor process issues, contributing to troubleshooting and process optimization.

Skills and Qualifications:

· Technical Skills: Familiarity with coating machinery, spray equipment, and related processes.

· Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to ensure product quality and accuracy.

· Documentation Skills: Ability to accurately document all activities and observations.

· Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.

· Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Physical Abilities: Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

· Experience: Prior experience in pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or cosmetic manufacturing, particularly in tablet coating or related processes, is often preferred.
