CNC Operator

Job Description

Responsibilities: Part Drawing reading, Understanding sketches, and design data to determine dimensions. Selection of cutting tools, and machine speeds and feeds to get better cycle times. Perform debugging and testing of CNC programs in the machines. Develop CNC programs on the machine consol manually for multiple-axis machine. Prepare, store and maintain program files in accordance with manufacturing change control process. Provide input on the purchase of all CNC related machine tools and programming equipment, to include information on controls, and aids in any testing required in the purchase of new CNC equipment. Maintain tooling data base. Perform cutting tools evaluations and new technology implementation. Develop Jigs and Fixtures to reduce setting time. Maintain status reports on production on a timely basis. Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing. Make suggestions on drawing changes to improve manufacturing process and CNC program strategy. Inspect and measure using precision instruments. Required Skills: Conversant with Fanuc and Siemens controls for Lathe and Multi axis milling machines. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices and ISO standards would be an added advantage. Good oral and written communication skills in English. Teamwork and customer focus oriented. Experience and knowledge in understand toolpaths through the use of dry run test on machine.
