Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and adaptable Systems Engineer to join our global IT team.

This role is ideal for a well-rounded professional with experience supporting both onpremises infrastructure and cloud-based technologies. The successful candidate will

play a key role in maintaining, optimizing, and securing a hybrid IT environment spanning

Microsoft Azure, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 services.

Key Responsibilities:

Core Infrastructure Support (On-Premises and Cloud)

• Administer and support a hybrid IT infrastructure including Microsoft Azure,

Windows Server, and Microsoft 365 platforms.

• Maintain and support Windows Server infrastructure: Active Directory, DNS,

DHCP, Group Policy, file and print services.

• Manage virtualization platforms such as VMware, including VM deployment and

resource optimization.

• Deploy, configure, and manage Azure resources (e.g., Virtual Machines, VNets,

Azure AD, Storage Accounts, Network Security Groups).

Cloud & Endpoint Management

• Monitor and manage cloud services using tools such as Azure Monitor, Cost

Management, and Defender for Cloud.

• Configure and enforce identity and access controls: RBAC, Conditional Access,

MFA, and other security policies.

• Administer Microsoft Intune for device compliance, endpoint configuration, and

mobile device management (MDM).

Microsoft 365 Administration

• Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams,

OneDrive, and Azure AD.

• Manage user accounts, license assignments, mail flow, distribution lists, and

security groups.

• Implement and maintain data retention policies, Data Loss Prevention (DLP)

rules, and other compliance/security controls.

Operations, Maintenance, and Support

• Perform regular patching, system upgrades, and performance tuning to ensure

optimal service delivery.

• Ensure high availability, load balancing, and disaster recovery readiness (e.g.,

using Veeam, Azure Backup, and failover configurations).

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex Tier 2/3 issues across network, system, and

cloud components.

• Support end-users directly and handle escalations from the helpdesk team.

Project & Collaboration

• Participate in IT projects such as cloud migrations, infrastructure upgrades, and

security hardening initiatives.

• Collaborate with InfoSec, DevOps, and Application teams on cross-functional

technology initiatives.

• Work with regional and global teams to support infrastructure across multiple

geographical locations.

Automation & Documentation

• Develop and maintain automation scripts (preferably in PowerShell) for tasks such

as user provisioning, reporting, and system maintenance.

• Maintain accurate documentation, including SOPs, system configurations, and

network/infrastructure diagrams.

Availability & Response

• Participate in the on-call rotation and perform planned maintenance during

approved windows.

• Respond to critical incidents in a timely and professional manner, ensuring minimal

impact to business operations.

Qualifications:

• 37 years of experience as a Systems Engineer or similar role.
• 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure roles with a focus on Microsoft

technologies.

• Hands-on experience with both cloud (Azure/M365) and on-prem infrastructure.
• Strong hands-on experience of Windows Server administration.
• Strong hands-on experience of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, firewalls,

DNS)

• Strong hands-on experience of Azure AD, M365 services, and Intune for device and

identity management.

• Strong PowerShell scripting administration experience.
• Experience working in a global enterprise environment is preferred.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent

experience.

Core Certifications

• CompTIA Network+ – Validates networking fundamentals essential for hybrid

infrastructure.

• CompTIA Security+ – Demonstrates understanding of baseline security practices and

principles.

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) – Essential for

managing Azure infrastructure services.

• Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate (MD-102) –

Covers Intune, endpoint management, and Microsoft 365
