PRIMARY PURPOSE To provide technical expertise and support to Thiess ICT. To determine, document and coordinate implementation of systems and standards with the express purpose of providing the business with an exceptional ICT environment. To administer Wintel and VMware system architecture and knowledge on networking to ensure maximum efficiency. Environmentally friendly disposal of all ICT hardware Power saving initiatives Commercial Assist procurement needs by obtaining prices and sourcing ICT supplies as directed. Demonstrates a broad understanding of Thiess functional structure and commercial interests Stakeholder Relationships & Influence Works autonomously and with minimal oversight to complete most work activities. Provide technical advice and support to internal/external staff when required. Provide timely & quality support, investigation, response, feedback, escalation, assistance, and resolution to incidents logged by Thiess & Business Unit Employees Ensure all Incidents and work tasks are updated and maintained in a timely and informative manner to promote SLA compliance and knowledge Research & Professional Development Keep up to date with industry developments and identify appropriate applications and new initiatives as required. Continually seek ways to improve ICT delivery and services. Monitor developments in ICT technology and make recommendations to management on the adoption of appropriate new technologies Support Provide 24/7 timely & quality L2/L3 support to Thiess global sites. Responsible for working closely with Thiess SD team for any ICT issues. Day to day administration of Thiess Systems and associated hardware Ensure all systems and network services are available when required by the business and are performing as expected. Maintain security systems to ensure that data security is maximized. Monitor the systems to identify potential issues and forecast future requirements. Provide information relating to customers' network, hardware and software purchasing decisions. Ensure effective design and implementation of consistent and reliable network solutions. Installation and maintenance of hardware and software Diagnose and resolve support calls relating to the abovementioned Thiess systems. Proactively review the services being provided to ensure they are fit for purpose, cost effective and performing adequately Provide technical involvement in the scoping, delivery, and support of projects. Responsible for Cloud tools trainings to SD team. Proper documentation of all the process and timely updation. Administration Produce and maintain process, procedure, standard and policy documentation. Maintain the Service Catalogue in relation to Change Requests and other related maintenance. Adopt change management processes and best practices in the implementation of changes to major IT&T systems through ITIL based practices CAPABILITY PROFILE Formal Education Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology Work Experience 4-5 years demonstrated experience in the operation and design of cloud-based infrastructure. 4-5 years' experience in working with cloud applications. Five (5) years experience working with Infrastructure technologies. Experience working within environments that encompass cloud-based technologies. Experience of working within a complex multi-region ICT server environment Experience with working in an environment that is tracked via an incident management tool Technical Skills Advanced knowledge of VMware virtualization environments (Mandatory) Advanced knowledge of Windows server environments (Mandatory) Advanced Troubleshooting skills in VMware, vSAN, vSphere, Wintel environments (Mandatory) Knowledge on licensing of products Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Azure AD Knowledge of O365 platform Knowledge of Linux/Unix Server environments Knowledge of Server technologies such as AD, Exchange, Terminal Services, SCCM and Citrix. Knowledge of Security practices Knowledge of ITIL practices desirable Knowledge of PowerShell Ability to provide in-depth technical support and analysis. Custom Applications / Systems Support of real time high availability IT Systems Ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization. Ability to impart industry knowledge to internal staff members. Working knowledge of enterprise ICT environments
