As a professional responsible for decoding competitors" design philosophy from an engineering and customer perspective, your key duties include functional and concept benchmarking of suspension, vehicle body (vehicle, system & parts) of competitive vehicles. You will analyze suspension, brakes, steering, and body systems/parts, as well as integrate them with other systems. Cost and weight analysis, along with performance correlation with design, will be essential tasks. Moreover, you will be expected to prepare and release benchmarking sheets and analysis reports, analyze benchmarking ideas for implementation in MSIL models, study upcoming technologies through benchmarking, and collaborate with engineering teams to identify root causes and propose countermeasures for design/quality issues. In terms of technical and functional requirements, hands-on experience in engineering and developing suspension and body components for passenger cars and UVs is crucial. You should have a deep understanding of vehicle layout, systems/parts contributing to chassis and body performance, as well as expertise in the design and validation of suspension and body parts in your work area. Moreover, familiarity with the workings and functionalities of suspension, brakes, and steering systems, knowledge of applicable regulations related to suspension and body parts, and understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes of these components are essential. Experience in development project handling, knowledge of the Indian automobile market, and an understanding of customer preferences are also required. Additional desirable skills include experience in ride, handling, and braking (RHB) testing, as well as system/component benchmarking. On the behavioral side, effective communication and analytical skills are key to success in this role. Your flexibility, adaptability, and ability to listen attentively will be valuable assets. Leadership skills, particularly in coaching, mentoring, and grooming team members, are essential for driving project success. Required skills for this role include proficiency in UGNX, MS Excel, and PowerPoint. The educational qualifications expected for this position are a B.E/B.Tech degree with a graduation/post-graduation in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering.
