Civil Structural Engineer

As a Civil Structural Engineer at Holtec International, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to designing the next-generation nuclear power plant, the SMR-300. Your role will involve analyzing and designing various structures to support the licensing and construction of SMR-300 plants globally. You will use a variety of methods and software to perform these analyses, ensuring the safety and compliance of the structures. **Key Responsibilities:** - Produce mathematical and computational models that accurately represent structures while meeting building codes and client/regulatory requirements - Prepare and review design basis, specifications, and tender documents for civil and structural works - Provide creative solutions for unique structural designs, including seismic-resistant designs - Review fabrication drawings and design steel welded/bolted connections - Perform structural analyses using software such as ANSYS, SAP2000, ETABS, and STAAD.Pro - Collaborate with other design groups, overseas team members, clients, and vendors to ensure completeness of design tasks **Qualifications Required:** - Masters or Ph.D. degree in Civil or Structural engineering - 2+ years of experience in analysis and design of industrial structures - Extensive knowledge of civil-structural design codes and standards - Expertise in structural engineering software such as STAAD-Pro, ANSYS, LS-DYNA, ETABS, SAP2000 - Excellent oral and written communication skills in English - Knowledge of dynamic analysis methods and high seismic zone design practices - Experience in reading equipment layouts and piping drawings - Ability to work collaboratively in a large team environment **Desired Skills:** - Prior experience in the nuclear industry and seismic analysis - Experience in design of modular structures and onsite construction activities - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Ability to work under indirect supervision and adapt to new challenges Join Holtec International and contribute to the development of safe and sustainable energy solutions through innovative structural engineering practices.
