Role & responsibilities

• A chief engineer is ultimately responsible for

  all operations and maintenance

  that has to do with any and all engineering equipment throughout the entire company

• Preparation of maintenance schedule.
• Preparation of planning to taking equipment for P.M
• Inspection of routine maintenance activity
• Selection of material for monthly maintenance activity.
• Root cause analysis of breakdown equipments
• Execution of the preventive maintenance
• Co-ordination with purchase department for material procurement.
• Inspecting and checking of monthly maintenance materials with co-ordination of stores.
• Supervision and inspection of various equipments, piping & structural.
• Verification and certification of bills according to the work.
• Preparation of daily work report to superiors
• Designing and selection of equipment’s like pumps and heat exchangers.
• Conducting the PHA, HAZOP study for the process & implementing the points.
• Preparation of ISO documents, JSC, JCC, Preparing Sop’s, Safety standards as per OSHA and training as per SOP.
• Project Estimation, Budgeting & Costing.
• Project scheduling depending upon practical target date.
• To conduct & attend daily project meeting for the project work review.
• Engineering Activities.
• Involved in providing required inputs to the engineering consultant.
• Involved in deciding & preparing documents like design basis, MR, TS, MDS, Colour coding & other basic philosophies.
• Involved in freezing Master & Equipment Layout.
• As per equipment layout involved in checking of civil drawings like Slab, Beam, Foundation, Architectural drawings etc.
• Involved in checking & freezing equipment and GA drawing.
• Involved in preparing Vendor data base by communicating & collecting there capabilities & specialisations.
• Involved in visiting vendor facility / work place & categorise them by giving grade.
• To prepare the cost vouchers section wise to up load in SAP.
• Follow up the progress of the equipment as per schedule at vendors end.
• To carry out the inspection of the ready Equipments at vendor facility & plant after receiving.
• Erection Activity:
• Erection with alignment of static & rotary equipment as per the equipment layout with the help of selected contractors & engineers
• Fabrication & erection of metallic / non-metallic piping & tanks.
• Testing & Trial run of the Equipments as per manufacturer recommendation.
• Involved in complete commissioning of the plant.
• To check & certify the bills raised by the contractors & vendors.

• OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF UTILITIES & MAINTENANCE OF PLANT:-

• Maintenance

• Day to day maintenance of static & rotary Equipments of plant & utilities.
• Ensuring max availability of the equipment by planning & scheduling of preventive as well as predictive maintenance.
• Planning & scheduling of turnaround / shutdown maintenance.
• Planning for the procurement of optimum required spares considering different maintenance activities.
• Involved in developing vendor as per the requirement.
• Involved in indigenization of imported items.
• Involved in developing equipment & system for the betterment.
• Involved in conducting technical training for engineers & technicians to train them in advance / correct maintenance techniques.
• Involved in conducting safety training to create awareness about safety.
• Involved in documentation & implementation of ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS standards.
• To plan & execute process / system modifications as per the requirement of process / maintenance.
• Involved in implementing SAP maintenance module.
• Attending day to day production meeting & conducting departmental meeting.
• Involved in appraisal meeting of the subordinates.
• Involved in the maintenance of forklifts (gas & diesel)

• Operation of Utilities

  :
• Having experience in the operation of the following utilities.
• FO and Coal fired thermic fluid heater.
• Air compressor reciprocating, centrifugal & screw type
• Water treatment plant ( DM plant, RO plant & Softner plant)
• Operation of tank farm.
• Effluent treatment plant
• Cooling towers, Chilling Plant
• Monthly breakdown, Why – Why Analysis, Contingency plan, Kaizen, Poka Yoke,
• Having knowledge of maintaining documents as per audit requirement OHSAS 18001:2007, ISO 14001: 2015, ISO9001, TS, IATF and TPM etc.
