Prepare and deliver well-planned, engaging Chemistry lessons aligned with the syllabus (CBSE/ICSE) and school policies.
Create and maintain schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching materials and resources appropriate to students needs.
Conduct practical experiments, demonstrations and laboratory work safely and effectively; ensure students understand and comply with lab safety protocols.
Assess student learning through assignments, tests, quizzes, internal exams; mark, record, monitor and report students’ progress and attainment.
Provide feedback to students and parents (through meetings, reports) on progress, strengths, areas for improvement; set targets for achievement.
Maintain proper records (attendance, marks, practical work, homework) in line with department/school policy.
Differentiate instruction to cater for students of varying abilities; support slow learners with remedial work and challenge higher-achievers.
Create a stimulating, neat and well-organised learning environment; manage classroom behaviour and maintain discipline befitting the school’s standards.
Contribute to the school beyond teaching: support extracurricular activities, science clubs, field visits, departmental events, curriculum development.
Participate in staff meetings, professional development, training sessions; keep up-to-date with developments in Chemistry teaching, curriculum and pedagogy.
Liaise with other departments, parents, and the school leadership to support the wider educational aims of the school.
Adhere to school policies on safeguarding, health & safety, child protection, and promote the values and vision of the school.
