Chemistry Lab Assistant (School)

Job Description

The Lab Assistant will support science teachers and students in conducting experiments, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a safe and organized learning environment. This role is essential for fostering hands-on scientific learning in subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Preparation: Set up equipment, materials, and chemicals before practical classes.

Assisting Teachers: Provide support during demonstrations and student experiments.

Student Guidance: Help students understand lab procedures and use equipment safely.

Equipment Maintenance: Clean, calibrate, and store instruments properly.

Inventory Management: Track supplies, order new materials, and maintain stock records.

Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including proper disposal of chemicals.

Documentation: Maintain lab records, experiment logs, and safety checklists.

Coordination: Liaise with vendors, administration, and faculty for smooth lab operations.

Skills & Competencies

• Scientific Knowledge: Basic understanding of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology experiments.
• Technical Skills: Ability to handle lab instruments and equipment.
• Organizational Skills: Efficient in managing time, resources, and schedules.
• Communication Skills: Clear instructions to students and coordination with teachers.
• Safety Awareness: Knowledge of lab safety procedures and emergency protocols.

Qualifications

• Educational Background: Diploma/Graduate in Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology preferred).
• Experience: Prior experience in a school or college laboratory is desirable but not mandatory.
• Certifications: Training in lab safety or first aid is an added advantage

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
