Job Description

Job Title: Quality Control (QC) Chemical Lab

Location: Jolva, Dahej, Bharuch, Gujarat

Department: Quality Control

Job Summary:

The QC Lab Technician is responsible for conducting routine and non-routine analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished chemical products such as DEG, MEG, PTA, and related compounds. The role ensures all testing is carried out per defined specifications, standard methods, and regulatory compliance, supporting the production of high-quality chemical products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Have Knowledge or Perform qualitative and quantitative chemical analyses of samples using techniques such as:
    • Titration
    • Gas Chromatography (GC)
    • High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
    • UV-Vis Spectrophotometry
    • Karl Fischer (moisture analysis)
  • Analyse raw materials like PTA, DEG, MEG etc and ensure they meet specifications before use in production.
  • Conduct routine quality checks of in-process and final products to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments regularly.
  • Record, compile, and interpret test results, and report deviations or non-conformities to the QC Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations in the handling and disposal of chemical substances.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation such as COAs (Certificates of Analysis), SDSs (Safety Data Sheets), lab reports, and test records.
  • Participate in internal audits and support corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Assist in method development, validation, and process improvement initiatives as required.

Requirements:

  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or a related field.
  • Experience:

    0–5 years of laboratory experience in a chemical or petrochemical industry, especially with DEG, MEG, PTA, etc.
  • Skills add on advantage:

    • Strong knowledge of wet chemistry and instrumental analysis.
    • Familiarity with ASTM, ISO, or internal lab testing methods.
    • Proficient in using laboratory software and Microsoft Office.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Working Conditions:

  • Laboratory and industrial plant environment.
  • May require working in shifts depending on plant operations.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
