Job Description

Job Summary:

Chemical Plant Operator

Key Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor chemical processing equipment (e.g., reactors, mixers, centrifuges, pumps, valves)
Adjust controls and process variables to meet quality, production, and safety standards
Read and interpret gauges, dials, flow meters, and computer-generated data
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to prevent downtime
Collect samples and conduct basic quality control tests
Record process data and maintain accurate logs and production reports
Follow all safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
Respond to alarms, equipment failures, and emergency situations

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (technical diploma or trade certification preferred.
Knowledge of chemical handling, plant safety protocols, and basic chemistry
Familiarity with SCADA/DCS systems and process control interfaces
Ability to read P&ID drawings, SOPs, and equipment manuals
Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects, climb stairs/ladders, and work in confined spaces
Willingness to work
