Chemical Engineer

A Chemical Engineer in the polyurethane and foam industry plays a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing chemical processes for manufacturing polyurethane-based products. You will be responsible for developing and optimizing polyurethane foam formulations for various applications. Additionally, you will conduct chemical process analysis to improve efficiency and product quality. Ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as REACH and fire retardant standards will also be a key aspect of your role. Collaboration with R&D teams to innovate new polyurethane materials and overseeing production trials to troubleshoot manufacturing issues will be part of your responsibilities. Working closely with suppliers to source raw materials like MDI, polyols, surfactants, and fire retardants is essential. Moreover, maintaining quality control and environmental certifications and providing technical support to production teams will be integral to your daily tasks. To qualify for this position, you should hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Demonstrating expertise in polyurethane chemistry, including formulations and processing, is required. Prior experience in industrial production environments, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in cross-functional teams are essential. Knowledge of chemical safety protocols and environmental impact assessments will be advantageous.
