Job Description

The Accounts Head is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring accurate recording, compliance, and reporting of the organization s financial data. This includes managing day-to-day finance and accounting activities, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, audits, and team supervision. The role demands high integrity, strong leadership, technical expertise, and a proactive approach to financial planning and analysis. This position is crucial in guiding the company s financial strategy and ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
Financial Accounting & Transactions
Manage daily accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, journal entries, bank reconciliations, payroll, and cash receipts
Ensure accurate and timely month-end closing, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations
Ensure accurate revenue and expense recognition in compliance with GAAP

Monitor cash flow, investment balances, and forecast fund requirements
Reporting & Compliance
Prepare and submit timely financial reports, MIS, and budget variance analysis for management and directors
Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws (direct and indirect), and statutory requirements like PF, ESIC, TDS, GST, etc.
Manage internal and external audits and ensure the fiscal year-end closing is completed accurately and on time
Budgeting & Analysis
Assist the Director and other department heads in preparing and monitoring budgets
Analyze financial trends, identify risks/opportunities, and provide strategic recommendations

Perform cost control and resource allocation analysis to optimize spending
Leadership & Supervision
Lead and mentor a team of accountants and finance personnel
Delegate tasks and ensure timely, high-quality financial deliverables
Provide training and guidance on accounting software and financial policies
Technology & Process Improvement
Leverage financial software (e.g., Tally, Excel) to streamline operations and enhance accuracy

Train internal staff to use systems effectively and securely
Implement automation and improve accessibility of financial data for better decision-making
Liaison & Administration
Serve as the main contact for vendors, government departments, and internal stakeholders for finance-related matters
Manage additional administrative responsibilities like tax registrations and policy compliance
Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data at all times

Qualifications & Experience:
Qualified CA or Qualified Inter CA with relevant experience
Minimum 7 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Strong experience in accounting principles, taxation (GST, TDS, etc.), audits, and statutory filings

Skills & Competencies:
Proficient in Tally, MS Excel (advanced), and other financial systems
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Strong leadership and team management abilities
Ability to explain complex financial data in simple terms
High level of integrity, accuracy, and accountability
Experience in audit handling and compliance management
Strong time management and attention to detail
