CCTV Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CCTV Technician to install, maintain, and repair closed-circuit television systems and related equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in electronics, wiring, troubleshooting, and system integration, ensuring all security systems operate efficiently and meet customer or organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems, cameras, DVR/NVRs, and related hardware/software.
• Run and terminate cables (e.g., coaxial, Cat5/Cat6) for surveillance systems.
• Perform regular system inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair faults in CCTV and security systems.
• Upgrade existing systems as needed, including software/firmware updates.
• Integrate CCTV systems with access control, alarm systems, and monitoring platforms.
• Maintain documentation of installations, service reports, and system schematics.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations and safety standards.
• Train users or clients on system operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Provide on-site or remote technical support as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA, CCTV/Security Systems Certification) preferred.
• Proven experience as a CCTV technician or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, IP and analog camera setups, DVRs/NVRs, and networking.
• Familiarity with tools like cable testers, multimeters, and power supplies.
• Understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and low-voltage installations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and manuals.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Physical ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and lift equipment.

Work Conditions:

• May require travel to various job sites.

• May involve working during off-hours, weekends, or on-call shifts.
