Cat Tools & Infrastructure Associate

As a Cat Model Analyst at Swiss Re, you will be part of the Cat Perils Cat & Geo Modelling team, contributing to the maintenance and validation of NatCat models, tools, and applications used in the NatCat costing process. Your responsibilities will include: - Conceptualizing and building NatCat applications using sophisticated analytical technologies - Collaborating with model developers across peril teams to implement and test models in the internal framework - Developing and implementing concepts to enhance the internal modelling framework - Coordinating with various teams for successful model and tool releases - Providing ad-hoc support to the user community on model and tool-related issues - Installing and maintaining the Oasis setup and potentially contributing to the development of new functionality - Coordinating platform setup and maintenance with 3rd party vendors Qualifications required for this role: - Graduate or Post-Graduate degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or equivalent quantitative training - Minimum of 5 years working experience in Cat Modelling domain - Experience with catastrophe models such as Oasis, RMS, Verisk/AIR, or Corelogic - Solid programming skills in MATLAB, MS SQL, Python, Pyspark, R, and experience in consuming WCF/RESTful services - Prototyping or developing Business Intelligence, reporting, and data analysis solutions (preferably in PowerBI/Palantir Foundry) - Familiarity with agile development environments (e.g., Scrum) - Knowledge of Azure Storage, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, and Databricks would be beneficial - Strong interpersonal skills, self-driven, and ability to work within a globally distributed team - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills - Eagerness to learn and expand knowledge on Insurance/Reinsurance concepts About Swiss Re: Swiss Re is a global leader in reinsurance, insurance, and other forms of insurance-based risk transfer, dedicated to making the world more resilient.
