Job Title:

Cargo Superintendent

Location:

Angola OffshoreAct as Deputy of the OIM

• The Cargo Superintendent is in charge of all oil and ballast movements on the unit, including transfers of oil and water from tanks and the discharge of washing water.
• He ensures that the Unit permissible shear forces and bending moments are not exceeded.
• He ensures that water discharges overboard from the slop tank do not exceed contractual and statutory limits. He maintains the Oil Record Book in accordance with MARPOL regulations.
• Whenever required, act as Barge Supervisor (BS) or Ballast Control Operator (BCO) as defined in IMO resolution A. 1079 (28) section 6.3.
• He is responsible for the structural and cosmetic fabric maintenance of the Unit, including corrosion control in cargo and ballast tanks.
  

Qualifications

Hold STCW 95 Certificate of Competence as Master (STCW A-II/2) / Barge Supervisor (BS) Certificate of Competence in accordance with IMO Resolution A.1079 (28) section 6.3 plus Certificate to satisfy Flag requirements (Endorsement)

• Valid Dangerous Cargo Endorsement (Petroleum) attached to the Certificate.
• Extensive Sea service on tankers to rank of at least Chief Officer
• Good command of English language, both oral and written
  

Labour Relationship:

Fixed term contract (12 months renewable)

Years of Experience:

Minimum of 8 years.

MS office
