As a Procurement Specialist, your role involves checking technical requirements against vendor specifications and conducting initial negotiations for a specific category of items. Your key responsibilities include: - Floating enquiries for assigned items based on user requirements - Ensuring the accuracy of technical requirements provided by users and vendor specifications, and reporting any discrepancies to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager - Conducting initial negotiations with vendors and providing negotiation details to the buying manager for finalizing deals - Placing orders for finalized items and entering relevant information into the SAP system - Promptly addressing and resolving internal and external audit issues related to procurement, with escalation to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager when necessary To qualify for this position, you should have a B.Tech/B.E degree and 2-6 years of experience in category sourcing and manufacturing. Desirable qualifications include experience in category-based purchasing and supply management in a similar plant operations environment.
