As a Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring that technical requirements align with vendor specifications and conducting initial negotiations with vendors for a specific category of items. Your duties will include floating inquiries for assigned items based on user requirements, verifying the accuracy of technical requirements provided by users and vendor specifications, and communicating any discrepancies to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager. Additionally, you will be expected to conduct the first round of negotiations with vendors, provide negotiation details to the buying manager for finalizing deals, place orders for finalized items, and accurately record entries in the SAP system. Furthermore, you will be accountable for promptly addressing and resolving any internal and external audit issues related to procurement. In cases where escalation is necessary, you will escalate the matter to the Senior Buyer or Buying Manager. To qualify for this role, you should have a B.Tech/B.E degree and a minimum of 2-6 years of experience in sourcing and manufacturing within the relevant category. Experience in category-based purchasing and supply management in a similar plant operations environment would be advantageous.
