Job Description

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership :-

  • Develop and execute the NVOCC business strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Identify new trade lanes, markets, and growth opportunities.
  • Lead digital transformation and process optimization initiatives.

Commercial & Business Development :-

  • Drive sales and marketing efforts to expand customer base and increase market share.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with shipping lines, agents, and partners.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends to stay ahead.

Operations Management :-

  • Oversee container inventory, repositioning, and utilization across regions.
  • Ensure timely and cost-effective cargo movement and documentation.
  • Implement SOPs for operational efficiency and service excellence.

Financial & P&L Management :-

  • Own the P&L for the NVOCC division.
  • Monitor revenue, cost control, and profitability metrics.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.

Team Leadership :-

  • Build and lead a high-performing team across sales, operations, and customer service.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Compliance & Risk Management :-

  • Ensure adherence to international shipping regulations, customs laws, and safety standards.
  • Manage risks related to cargo claims, liabilities, and regulatory audits.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with global trade lanes (Middle East, Southeast Asia, Africa, etc.)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and shipping software (e.g., Cargo Wise, SAP TM)
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, International Business, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in shipping, freight forwarding, or NVOCC operations.
  • Proven track record in managing large teams and P&L responsibilities.
  • Strong network with shipping lines, port authorities, and logistics partners.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
