Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the results of the LBACOE quality assurance process. Your key responsibilities will include: - Conducting review of invoice lines, utilizing your specialized legal subject matter expertise to assess legal invoice line items. - Verifying compliance with legal billing guidelines by law firms and vendors submitting invoices. - Ensuring accuracy of UTBMS task codes (Fee, Activity, and Expense codes) applied to invoice line items. - Independently adjusting invoice line items based on your assessment of the legal context, using your legal subject matter expertise to extract core critical legal terminology and concepts. - Documenting reasons for any additional adjustments made to invoice line items, including identifying the billing guideline violated and rationale for the amount adjusted. - Forwarding audited and peer-reviewed legal invoices through the review chain as required. - Promptly and professionally resolving law firm appeals, addressing requests for reconsideration of adjusted amounts with careful judgment, legal knowledge, and professionalism. - Working with law firms to resolve disputed invoice line items using sound discretion and legal knowledge. - Efficiently and accurately reviewing appealed legal invoice entries. Additionally, you will be responsible for performing invoice review analysis for the Data Service initiative within LBACOE. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing expert assessment of the legal context and terminology in invoices and data files, as well as assigned Data Service AI output. - Understanding basic LBA Data Service outputs to assess AI accuracy, precision, recall, and general performance. - Assisting in identifying AI rule patterns and scenarios within data and providing analysis accordingly. - Performing other responsibilities and tasks as needed or required. You will also be expected to: - Support internal management in documenting performance metrics for internal and client use. - Demonstrate a strong understanding of legal terminology and claims legal situations, with multijurisdictional exposure preferred. - Be a quick learner, especially in the areas of bill review and data service principles. - Analyze and condense legal service agreements to produce operational outputs meeting customer expectations. - Work independently with limited supervision after training. - Possess excellent computer skills and the ability to learn electronic legal bill submission and auditing software. - Have a sound command of the English language, including grammar, syntax, style, punctuation, and capitalization. - Demonstrate excellent spelling and proofreading skills. - Exhibit effective communication skills both orally and in written form. - Display organizational skills conducive to efficiently reviewing legal invoices. - Be familiar with common business math and possess appropriate business telephone skills. - Ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions and respond to requests effectively and efficiently.
