Business Analyst - Reinsurance Domain

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

Requirement Gathering & Analysis :

• Engage with business stakeholders, SMEs, and end-users to elicit, analyze, and document business requirements specific to reinsurance.
• Translate complex reinsurance business processes into clear functional and non-functional requirements.
• Conduct gap analysis, feasibility studies, and impact assessments.
  

Documentation

• Create detailed Business Requirement Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirement Documents (FRDs), user stories, use cases, and process workflows.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the project lifecycle, including RTMs and process diagrams.
  

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Act as a liaison between business units and IT teams.
• Coordinate and facilitate meetings, workshops, and walkthroughs with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Communicate technical information in business terms and vice versa.
  

Domain Expertise Reinsurance

• Apply knowledge of Treaty and Facultative Reinsurance, inward/outward reinsurance, ceding processes, premium and claim bordereaux, retrocession, and reinsurance accounting.
• Support implementation or transformation projects involving reinsurance administration systems.
• Assist with regulatory and compliance needs relevant to reinsurance reporting and risk exposure.
  

Solutioning & Implementation Support

• Collaborate with development, QA, and UAT teams to ensure requirements are properly implemented and tested.
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and defect triaging.
• Provide subject matter expertise during product development, enhancements, or system migrations.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst with at least 2+ years in Reinsurance.
• Solid understanding of reinsurance lifecycle, data flows, bordereaux management, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II, IFRS 17).
