Job Description

A Building Caretaker is responsible for the overall upkeep, cleanliness, security, and minor maintenance of a building or premises. The role includes daily inspections, handling minor repairs, ensuring hygiene standards, and coordinating with facility management for larger issues to ensure a safe and well-maintained environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Open and close the building premises on time and ensure security.
Perform routine cleaning tasks in common areas (e.g., staircases, corridors, lobbies).
Conduct daily inspections to identify any maintenance needs or safety hazards.
Carry out minor repairs such as changing light bulbs, fixing leaks, or tightening fixtures.
Monitor the functioning of water supply, lighting, and sanitation systems.
Coordinate with electricians, plumbers, and other technicians for major repairs.
Maintain cleanliness around the building, including gardens or parking areas if applicable.
Report any irregularities or damages to the supervisor or management promptly.
Ensure that emergency exits and firefighting equipment are accessible and in working order.
Assist residents or tenants with minor requests and maintain a helpful attitude.
