About the Role

Blind Accessibility QA Tester

As an Accessibility QA Tester, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our websites and mobile applications are fully accessible, usable, and inclusive for blind users. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering teams to identify accessibility issues and help create solutions that make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform accessibility testing for web and mobile applications with a focus on blind user experience.
  • Test using screen readers such as

    JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver

    .
  • Evaluate products based on

    WCAG 2.1/2.2, ADA, Section 508

    , and related accessibility standards.
  • Identify, document, and communicate accessibility issues including navigation, focus order, labeling, content structure, and screen-reader compatibility.
  • Provide clear, actionable feedback to development and design teams.
  • Assist in refining accessibility testing processes, guidelines, and checklists.
  • Participate in regular accessibility audits to ensure compliance.
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design across the organization.

Requirements

  • This position is open specifically to candidates who are blind or visually impaired

    , as real-world assistive technology experience is essential.
  • 35 years of experience in accessibility testing or a similar role.
  • Strong, hands-on experience using screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) as part of daily technology usage.
  • Solid understanding of

    WCAG 2.1/2.2

    , ADA, Section 508, and accessibility best practices.
  • Experience with tools like

    Axe, WAVE, Lighthouse

    , or similar platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to clearly document issues.
  • Experience testing both

Preferred Qualifications
