Job Description

Job Summary:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Biryani Specialist Chef/Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience preparing various styles of authentic biryani (such as Hyderabadi, Lucknowi, Kolkata, or regional variations), along with a strong understanding of spices, marination techniques, and dum cooking methods. You will be responsible for crafting high-quality, flavorful biryani dishes that meet our restaurant's standards and delight our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook a variety of authentic biryani dishes with precision and consistency.

Ensure correct marination, layering, and dum (slow-cooking) techniques are followed.

Monitor food stock levels and assist with inventory management.

Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen area.

Follow all food safety and sanitation standards as per local health regulations.

Collaborate with other chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Innovate and test new biryani recipes or fusion dishes if required.

Manage time efficiently during high-volume service hours.

Requirements:

Proven experience (2–5 years) as a chef/cook specializing in biryani.

Deep knowledge of traditional Indian spices, rice varieties, and cooking methods.

Familiarity with different regional biryani styles is a plus.

Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Strong sense of taste and attention to detail.

Basic knowledge of kitchen safety, food hygiene, and cleanliness standards.

Team player with good communication skills.

Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and different shifts.

Preferred Qualifications:

Culinary certification or formal training in Indian cuisine (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience working in a commercial or high-volume kitchen environment.
