Job Summary

The Biomedical Procurement Engineer at Aster Healthcare is responsible for planning, sourcing, and procuring biomedical equipment, instruments, and consumables to support safe and efficient clinical operations. The role ensures cost-effective procurement while complying with Aster quality standards, regulatory requirements, and operational timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute procurement of biomedical equipment, accessories, and consumables for hospital operations
  
• Coordinate with clinicians, biomedical engineering teams, and department heads to understand technical and functional requirements
  
• Evaluate technical specifications, prepare comparative statements, and assist in vendor finalization
  
• Manage vendor interactions including negotiations on pricing, warranties, AMC/CMC, and delivery schedules
  
• Ensure compliance with Aster Healthcare policies, NABH/JCI standards, and statutory regulations
  
• Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and documentation through ERP systems
  
• Track delivery, installation, commissioning, and handover of biomedical equipment
  
• Maintain asset documentation, service contracts, calibration records, and vendor databases
  
• Support tendering processes, audits, and internal reviews
  
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted availability of critical medical equipment
  
• Coordinate with finance for budgeting, invoice verification, and cost control
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering (mandatory)
  
• Certification or training in procurement / materials management is an advantage
  

Experience

• 2–5 years of experience in biomedical procurement or hospital biomedical engineering
  
• Experience in multi-specialty hospitals or large healthcare groups preferred
  

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment and hospital systems
  
• Understanding of procurement processes and healthcare regulations
  
• Vendor evaluation and negotiation skills
  
• Proficiency in ERP / SAP or hospital management systems
  
• Good analytical, documentation, and communication skills
  
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
