BIM/CAD Technician - Fire Life Safety

As a dynamic and self-motivated individual, your role will be crucial in project work, focusing on timely delivery and technical excellence. Your responsibilities will include: - Demonstrating an excellent working knowledge of AutoCAD software, including functions like X-Refs, Lisp, Blocks, Layers, Model Space & Paper Space, Viewports, Pen Setting files, and all AutoCAD utilities. - Familiarity with other Autodesk software such as Reference Manager and Navisworks. - Proficiency in Bently/MicroStation for creation and editing of drawings & models in compliance with WSP BIM Standards and detailing practices. - Producing accurate BIM/Revit, Bently/MicroStation, and AutoCAD 2D drawings and 3D models within agreed deadlines. - Sound knowledge of fire protection and detection, alarm design, modeling, and service coordination. - Completing tasks assigned by Engineers and ensuring drawings are filed to ZA standards. - Developing expertise in relevant technical fields and staying updated with advancements. - Ensuring Health & Safety practices are integrated into work processes in alignment with company policies. - Providing regular work status updates, including risks or concerns, to your line manager. - Attending team and project meetings as needed and supporting the company's sustainability approach. - Identifying opportunities for improvement to enhance WSP ZA service to clients. - Leading by example to ensure QMS compliance across the team. - Completing accurate timesheets by set deadlines and participating in training for new technologies to share knowledge within the team. In terms of qualifications, you should have: - Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. - Experience in the use of Bently/MicroStation. - Excellent command of written and verbal English.
