Commissioning Engineer - Fire Alarm System: Commissioning Engineer - Fire Alarm System with expertise in systems such as Simplex, Honeywell, and Edwards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems, ensuring they meet all required standards and client specifications. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently to manage multiple projects in a timely and efficient manners. Key Responsibilities : System Installation and Setup : Execute the installation, testing, and commissioning of detection systems. Ensure that all components, including control panels, detectors, alarms, and auxiliary devices, are installed according to manufacturer specifications and local fire safety codes. Perform system integration, ensuring seamless operation of various fire protection systems. Functional Testing : Perform comprehensive testing of all fire alarm system functions, including smoke detection, heat detection, manual alarms, system annunciations, and emergency lighting, utilizing the specific programming capabilities of each brand Simplex/ Honeywell/ Edwards & others. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed commissioning reports, including test results, system configurations, as- built drawings, and any identified non-conformances, for client review and approval. Testing & Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve any technical issues encountered during commissioning, utilizing knowledge of Simplex, Honeywell, and Edwards system diagnostics and troubleshooting procedures. Identify and fix problems related to system communication, power supply, and alarm circuits. Compliance & Documentation : Liaise with clients to understand project specifications, site requirements, and safety standards. Ensure all installations and systems meet local fire safety codes, NFPA standards, and manufacturer guidelines. Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of system configurations, testing results, and any changes made during commissioning. Prepare final commissioning reports for clients and regulatory bodies, including test certificates and compliance records. Required Skills & Qualifications : • Qualified Engineer with construction background. • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the commissioning, installation of Simplex, Honeywell, and Edwards fire alarm systems.

Role & responsibilities: Develop, implement, and lead improvements and modifications in processes relating to Fire Safety, Fire Protection, Fire Prevention and Emergency Response. Host/Participate and assist in preparation of 1st and 2nd party fire safety audits. Participate in 2nd party fire protection audits at other sites. Provide leadership and guidance to help ensure compliance with applicable Site, Corporate, State and Federal Safety related regulations and requirements. Interact with regulatory agencies as required. Interface with all unit operations, site EHS functions, leadership, and the line organization to administer programs and procedures and ensure compliance. Analyse systems to respond to operational problems and recommend solutions, develop programs, or effectively implement change to mitigate risk of future issues. Evaluate hazards against available fire protection systems and minimum protection requirements, detecting and recommending corrective action regarding any vulnerability. Actively participate in both internal and external Fire Safety groups, committees, organizations, and professional societies. Keep abreast of industry trends and new technology, leveraging that knowledge internally and externally to shape policy and communicate effectively with management around fire protection matters and issues. Coordinate design of fire protection, detection, suppression, and mitigation systems on site. Provide leadership of site emergency response element team. Maintain required fire protection documentation. Act as primary liaison to build and maintain positive relationship with local fire officials. Learn how to identify the root cause of system, equipment, and personnel failures via of Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) systems and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence. Establish and coordinate training of on-site emergency responders to maintain emergency responder certifications in Firefighting Levels I and II, EMT, HAZMAT, Confined Space Entry to maintain a high level of emergency response readiness for an industrial site with high hazard chemicals and processes. Role-specific Competencies: Detail knowledge of National Building Code 2016. Detail knowledge of Bureau of Indian Standard Codes related to fire and safety. Knowledge of NFPA and International Building Code is desirable Knowledge of planning / implementation / monitoring / management of fire safety Communicates effectively with superiors, peers and subordinates and should have adequate report writing skills and familiarity with using email and internet. Able to conduct safety mock drills and share the inferences with management. Knowledge of explosive, hazardous chemicals, and processes. Understanding of passive and active fire systems (including hydraulics & fire dynamics) Able to read and comprehend construction blueprints and specifications. Ability to anticipate, plan, develop, implement, audit, and improve sustainable systems and processes. Self-motivated with strong ability to multi-task and learn rapidly. Ability to network and work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology, Maintenance, and Training organizations. Planning and organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines in timely manner. Demonstrated strength in getting results, meeting commitments, and working cohesively within a team. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Good problem-solving process skills with strong ability to influence and demonstrate benefit to partners/customers regarding day-to-day and long-term challenges. Good computer (Outlook, Excel, Word, design tools) and technology skills etc. Educational Qualification: Masters or equivalent in, Fire Safety/ Science/ Engineering 5-10 years of work experience in the fire protection field at large industrial environment Sound technical and regulatory based Fire safety knowledge, including all applicable regulations, laws, and standards. Willing and able to wear personal protective equipment in a manufacturing environment (i.e., steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, respirator) Emergency Response experience preferred (Industrial)
