BIM Coordinator

Job Overview:

The MEP BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) aspects of the BIM process. This role ensures that MEP systems are accurately modeled and integrated into the overall project, handling clash detection, model updates, and collaboration between teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model Coordination: Oversee MEP BIM models, ensuring proper integration with architectural and structural models.
• Clash Detection: Identify and resolve clashes between MEP systems and other building systems early in the design process.
• Collaboration: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure MEP models align with project goals.
• Software Management: Administer MEP BIM tools (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360) to maintain accurate and updated models.
• Quality Control: Ensure compliance with project standards, codes, and regulations through regular model audits.
• Training: Provide guidance and training to the team on MEP BIM processes and software.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Education: Degree in MEP Engineering or related field.
• Experience: 3–5 years in MEP BIM coordination or related construction roles.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in MEP BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360), clash detection, and BIM standards.
• Soft Skills: Strong communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

• Primarily office-based, with occasional site visits for MEP system coordination.
