As a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Big Data Cloud QA Engineer, you will be joining a growing quality engineering team. Your expertise in coding, test automation, cloud environments, and big data pipelines will play a crucial role in ensuring end-to-end quality across cloud-based big data solutions through rigorous testing, framework development, and process improvement. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test reports for big data cloud applications. - Perform manual and automated testing for big data pipelines, cloud services, APIs, and backend components. - Write and maintain code in Java or backend languages (e.g., Python, Scala) to build automation test frameworks and reusable scripts. - Create and maintain automation frameworks for end-to-end testing in cloud and big data ecosystems. - Conduct API testing using tools like Postman, REST-assured, or similar libraries. - Execute DB testing by writing complex SQL queries for data validation and integrity checks. - Perform ETL testing to validate data flows, transformations, and consistency across systems. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or other harness tools. - Work with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP to test applications in distributed and containerized environments. - Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to understand data flow, infrastructure, and deployment pipelines. - Track and manage defects using tools such as JIRA, from identification to resolution. - Ensure compliance with security, data governance, and quality standards during testing. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a Scrum environment. - Conduct performance, load, and stress testing to assess scalability and reliability. - Use Linux/Unix commands for test environment setup, validation, and troubleshooting. - Analyze test results, identify trends, and produce detailed quality metrics and status reports for stakeholders. - Mentor junior QA engineers and help establish best practices for QA processes and automation. **Qualifications:** - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. - 5+ years of hands-on experience in QA, with a strong focus on big data and cloud-based applications. - Solid programming experience in Java, Python, or Scala, with the ability to write and debug test code. - Experience in building or extending test automation frameworks from scratch. - Proficient in SQL and experienced with relational and NoSQL databases. - Hands-on experience with ETL/data pipeline testing tools and practices. - Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman, REST-assured, SoapUI, etc. - Good knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure. - Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar systems. - Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and related QA practices. - Working knowledge of Linux/Unix systems for navigating and troubleshooting. - Experience with defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla, or similar). - Strong communication, collaboration, and analytical skills with a detail-oriented mindset.,
