BI Analyst

As a BI Analyst at our company, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards and reports to facilitate data-driven decision-making. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into actionable insights. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple reporting needs will be crucial in this fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: - Design, develop, and publish Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, and KPIs. - Transform raw data into meaningful insights using DAX and Power Query (M). - Integrate data from SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, APIs, and other relevant sources. - Create and optimize data models for effective reporting. - Apply DAX and query folding best practices for performance tuning. - Deploy reports to Power BI Service with proper workspace and access controls. - Schedule and monitor data refreshes, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy. - Provide ad hoc reporting support and enhancements based on user feedback. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements. Qualifications: Education and Experience: - Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. - 2-5 years of experience in Power BI report development and data analysis. Knowledge and Skills: - Proficiency with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and DAX. - Strong understanding of Power Query (M), data transformation techniques, and SQL. - Experience with data visualization principles and storytelling through dashboards. - Familiarity with Agile methodology and tools like Azure DevOps or Jira. Good to have: - Basic experience with Azure Synapse, Data Factory, Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate). - Familiarity with Git/version control and CI/CD for BI assets. - Knowledge of REST API connectivity and JSON data parsing.
