Job Description

The Electrical Engineer at Pravaig is responsible for the design, development, and execution of core battery electrical system components and assemblies. You will be responsible for defining, documenting, and designing battery pack and battery module bussing and wiring components and overseeing the validation of those components and assemblies. An effective candidate is comfortable applying technical knowledge to innovative designs, driving the resolution of challenges, and taking ownership of new product development activities. Your key responsibilities and deliverables will include technical ownership and delivery of electrical and electronics design through the entire development cycle. You will provide engineering support for the development of electronic hardware systems including system integration and support prototype and engineering build during the development phase. You should be highly experienced in contactor control, pre-charge, EMI, EMC, electrical power distribution, electrical interference, high-voltage junction boxes, and functional safety. Your tasks will involve component definition, sizing, selection, and design of cell electrical interconnections & bussing, module and pack high current and high voltage electrical interconnections & bussing, fusing, sensing, and control circuitry. Additionally, you will work with vendors to develop custom components to meet design development requirements and collaborate with the mechanical engineering team to develop battery modules and protection control systems. You will support the final assembly site to ensure proper integration of the battery into the final system and conduct rigorous failure analysis, root cause analysis, corrective action, and communicate with cross-functional internal stack holders on issues. Your role will also involve improving the high-voltage and high-power battery pack electrical and electronics architecture, ensuring successful integration with other subsystems within the drivetrain, and acting as a mentor and advisor to Design Release Engineers (DREs) on the team. Desired qualifications for this role include strong electrical and electronics fundamentals, experience in safe implementation and selection of high-current carrying cables and high-voltage cables and busbars, and proficiency in DFM, DFMEA, PFMEA, and DFA. Basic understanding of CAD tool skills such as SOLIDWORK or UG NX and the ability to learn and adapt to new tools are required. You should have strong leadership skills, proactive behavior, a degree in electrical engineering, familiarity with developing a product from concept to production, experience in micro-controller hardware implementation, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Demonstrated knowledge of electrical tests and equipment, as well as prior experience in HV EV charging systems, are preferred.
