As a Barista at our premium Matcha-Forward caf concept, your role is crucial in delivering consistently high-quality beverages and providing a refined guest experience. Your strong fundamentals in specialty coffee and good working knowledge of matcha preparation will be essential in upholding our Japanese caf standards. The ideal candidate values precision, cleanliness, and hospitality, thriving in a premium caf environment. Key Responsibilities: - Prepare and serve specialty coffee, matcha, and signature beverages with consistency and care. - Execute espresso extraction, milk texturing, and basic latte art to defined quality standards. - Prepare matcha beverages using correct techniques, temperature control, and presentation standards. - Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the barista station, equipment, and tools at all times. - Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and brewing equipment. - Ensure accurate order execution and smooth coordination with service and kitchen teams. - Manage mise-en-place, ingredient prep, and station readiness before and during service. - Monitor stock levels for bar supplies and report shortages or wastage. - Follow SOPs, recipes, portion control, and beverage presentation standards. - Engage politely with guests, answer basic menu queries, and uphold service values. Candidate Requirements: - Prior experience as a Barista in a caf or specialty coffee setup. - Basic to intermediate understanding of matcha preparation is required. - Sound knowledge of coffee fundamentals and beverage execution. - Friendly, calm, and guest-focused communication style. - Strong sense of cleanliness, organisation, and attention to detail. - Ability to work efficiently during peak service hours. - Flexible to work weekends and rotational shifts.
