Backend Lead Engineer

In this role at Collinson, a global loyalty and benefits company, as a Lead Engineer, you will be the technical backbone of your squad consisting of around 5-7 engineers. You will lead from the front by writing code daily and setting the standard for high-quality engineering. Working closely with an Engineering Manager and a Product Manager, you will ensure that your squad delivers scalable, well-architected software and collaborates effectively to build and launch new products and services. Key Responsibilities: - Lead a squad of engineers, guiding them to deliver high-quality, scalable software solutions - Write code daily, make key architectural decisions, and mentor engineers to help them grow - Collaborate with Engineering Manager and Product Manager to build and launch new products and services - Work with modern, cloud-native technologies including TypeScript, AWS, GraphQL, and more - Design and build greenfield systems from the ground up, incorporating AI, automation, and best-in-class engineering practices - Solve complex technical challenges and shape the direction of the team Qualifications Required: - Tech stack expertise in TypeScript, AWS, Kubernetes, GraphQL, and other related technologies - Previous experience as a Lead Engineer or Tech Lead leading a small team of software engineers - Proficiency in API & Database Development, Test-Driven Development, Cloud & DevOps, CI/CD, Observability Mindset, Tooling & Collaboration, Mentorship & Leadership, and Problem-Solving Collinson, a privately-owned entrepreneurial business with 2,000 passionate employees working in 20 locations worldwide, specializes in crafting customer experiences for renowned brands in Financial Services, Travel, and Retail sectors.
