Backend Lead Developer

You are an experienced and visionary Backend Lead Developer responsible for architecting and driving the development of robust and scalable backend systems for enterprise web applications in Kochi. Your role entails utilizing deep technical expertise in Spring Boot, microservices, and cloud platforms, coupled with strong leadership skills to mentor and guide a team of backend developers. As a vital member of the engineering team in Kochi, you will collaborate on mission-critical applications that significantly influence business outcomes. Your key responsibilities include leading the design, development, and deployment of backend services and APIs using Java (Spring Boot) or Node.js (NestJS), architecting scalable microservices solutions focusing on performance, security, and reliability, mentoring and guiding developers to promote best practices, collaborating with various teams for smooth project execution, integrating data storage solutions including SQL and NoSQL databases, maintaining high code quality standards, managing CI/CD pipelines, utilizing containerization technologies, monitoring and optimizing system performance, and staying updated with emerging technologies to propose system improvements. Requirements for this role include 8-12 years of backend development experience, proficiency in Spring Boot and optionally NestJS or similar frameworks, experience in building RESTful and SOAP APIs, strong command over databases like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, or Oracle, familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes, understanding of TDD and related testing frameworks, knowledge of CI/CD tools and processes, strong analytical, debugging, and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a high-paced, agile environment while managing multiple priorities. Preferred skills include experience integrating backend services with front-end frameworks, familiarity with security practices, prior experience leading cross-functional agile teams, and knowledge of performance tuning, scalability strategies, and observability tools.
