Backend Engineer

As a Backend Engineer at Salesmantu, your role will involve designing, building, and scaling the backend of our SaaS platform using Java Spring Boot. You will be working in an office-based setting in Gurgaon, collaborating with a lean, agile team to make a direct impact on our product and customers. **Key Responsibilities:** - Design, develop, and maintain backend services utilizing Java Spring Boot. - Create and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices architecture for scalability and performance. - Collaborate closely with product, frontend, and DevOps teams in an Agile environment. - Implement best practices for code quality, testing, CI/CD, and security. - Manage integrations with third-party tools and APIs such as email, CRM, and communication platforms. - Deploy, monitor, and scale applications on AWS. - Utilize GitHub for version control, code reviews, and CI/CD workflows. - Continuously enhance system performance, resilience, and scalability. **Required Skills & Experience:** - 4-8 years of backend development experience with Java and Spring Boot. - Proficiency in REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architecture. - Strong background in databases including SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB/Redis). - Hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, and CloudWatch. - Familiarity with GitHub, branching strategies, pull requests, and CI/CD pipelines. - Knowledge of message queues such as Kafka/RabbitMQ and caching strategies. - Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills. - Exposure to containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes is a plus. - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with an agile mindset. **Nice to Have:** - Front-end knowledge of React JS. - Experience with prospecting, CRM, or sales engagement tools. - Understanding of email deliverability systems like SMTP, IMAP, and APIs. - Familiarity with OAuth2, SSO, and authentication/authorization mechanisms.
