Backend Developer

About the Role

We are looking for a Backend Developer (Team Lead) who not only has deep backend expertise in Python but also understands the critical importance of real-time service delivery in a high-demand stock market application. This includes the timely and reliable delivery of instant trading signals, alerts, and financial data notifications to a large and growing user base.

You will lead a multi-disciplinary tech team including app developers, backend engineers, frontend (React Native) developers, and DevOps engineers, ensuring that the platform performs reliably, scales efficiently, and delivers a seamless user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Service Delivery & Real-Time Performance

- Architect backend services for real-time delivery of stock signals, alerts, and data feeds with low latency.

- Ensure high availability and fault tolerance for notification and event systems.

- Design backend infrastructure to support millions of concurrent users with minimal delays or data loss.

Technical Leadership

- Own the full lifecycle of backend development using Python frameworks (Django, FastAPI, Flask).

- Build scalable APIs and microservices to handle large volumes of historical and live financial data.

- Optimize backend systems to maintain smooth, uninterrupted services during peak stock market hours.

- Writing test cases and get the application develop.

- Testing the web / application to ensure smooth and uninterrupted services.

Team Management

- Lead and mentor a cross-functional engineering team (Backend, Frontend, Mobile, DevOps).

- Conduct code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing sessions.

- Align team workflows with Agile practices and project milestones.

DevOps & Reliability Engineering

- Collaborate with DevOps to ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines, auto-scaling, and zero-downtime deployments.

- Implement robust logging, monitoring, and alerting systems to proactively handle failures.

- Establish SLA-driven architecture that prioritizes service uptime and delivery precision.

Collaboration

- Work closely with product, QA, and business teams to align backend systems with evolving platform needs.

- Translate business logic (e.g., triggering alerts based on stock behavior) into performant backend features.

Skills and Qualifications

Must-Have

- 6+ years of backend development experience, with expertise in Python (Django, FastAPI, or Flask).

- 2+ years in a technical leadership or team management role.

- Experience working with large-scale datasets (especially financial/stock data).

- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, databases (SQL, NoSQL), and data modeling.

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

- Familiarity with DevOps tools (CI/CD, monitoring, logging).

- Experience collaborating with frontend (React Native) and mobile development teams.

Good to Have

- Experience with real-time data processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.).

- Background in financial or stock market systems.

- Working knowledge of React Native frontend stack.

- Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy practices.
