Lead Consultant DevOps Engineer, Operations

As a Lead Engineer for the Rally to Azure DevOps Migration, you will be responsible for designing, executing and validating the end-to-end migration of agile work items, boards, workflows and supporting metadata from CA Agile Central Rally into Azure DevOps. You will co-ordinate technical activities, Lead troubleshooting efforts, and work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a successful transition with minimal business disruption.

Responsibilities

• Lead and planning, configuration, and execution of migration scripts and tools.
• Perform the deep-dive data mapping analysis between Rally and ADO (e.g. work item types, Custom fields, states and hierarchies.
• Build, validate and optimize migration scripts or configure third party tools (e.g. Solidify and OpsHub).
• Co-ordinate and conduct dry run, validations and production cut-over activities.
• Co-ordinate with PMs, Scrum Masters, developers and QA to verify data accuracy and completeness.
• Manage user mapping and access control and ensure post migration user readiness
• Lead triage of migration issues and work closely with Infra/Network/security teams to resolve them.
• Document migration runbook, mapping rules, troubleshooting steps and lessons learned

Qualifications we seek in you!

Minimum Qualifications

• Hands on experience with Azure DevOps Boards, work item customization and Rest APIs.
• Strong working knowledge of Rally (CA Agile Central) structure and APIs
• Experience with data migration scripting using PowerShell, python or other scripting tools.
• Understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum) and DevOps lifecycle
• Familiarity with ADO process templates (Agile, Scrum, CMMI)
• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills especially with cross-tool integration.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications/ Skills

• Prior Experience with any Migration tool (Solidify, OpsHub, or Custom Rally-to-ADO migration tools
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps Reporting, Dashboard, and Analytics views
• Experience in Managing CI\CD pipelines in ADO
• Hands-on experience in working with ticketing tools like Service Now and project management tools like Azure Boards and Jira.
• Automate repetitive tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement scalable and resilient architectures for on-premises and cloud applications.
• Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards. Knowledgeable on SDLC, unit testing frameworks
• Excellent logical/analytical, problem-solving skills and a good Team player. Should be able to work in a team as well as an individual contributor.
• Should be willing to work in shifts when required.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and proactive attitude.
• Capable of performing under pressure and within set timelines.
