AWS CloudOps Technical Lead

Job Summary:

- We are seeking an experienced AWS CloudOps Technical Lead to architect, automate, and

operationalize world-class cloud infrastructure following AWS Well-Architected Framework

principles. The ideal candidate combines deep AWS expertise, infrastructure automation

mastery, and DevSecOps leadership, cost optimization, and security compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

AWS Well-Architected Framework Leadership

- Own and champion all six Well-Architected pillars: Operational Excellence, Security,

Reliability, Performance Efficiency, Cost Optimization, and Sustainability.

- Design and implement reference architectures and guardrails enforcing framework principles

organization-wide.

Infrastructure Automation & Platform Engineering

- Architect and maintain Infrastructure as Code ecosystems using Terraform,

CloudFormation and AWS CDK

- Design multi-account AWS platforms using Control Tower, Organizations, and Service

Control Policies (SCPs)

- Establish immutable infrastructure patterns with automated AMI pipelines and blue-green

deployments

DevSecOps & Security Leadership

- Implement shift-left security across all infrastructure and application deployment pipelines

- Establish policy-as-code frameworks with automated compliance validation and evidence

generation

- Design zero-trust architecture with comprehensive IAM policies, encryption, and network

segmentation

- Integrate security scanning: SAST, DAST, container vulnerability scanning, and runtime

intrusion detection

Observability & Incident Response Excellence

- Design comprehensive observability stack using CloudWatch, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus,

and Grafana

- Establish SLO/SLA frameworks with automated alerting and escalation procedures

- Implement chaos engineering practices for proactive resilience testing and improvement

- Create runbook automation and self-healing infrastructure patterns

Leadership & Offshore Team Management

- Lead and develop 100% CloudOps/SRE teams

- Mentor team members on AWS best practices, cost governance, and operational excellence

Required Qualifications

Technical Expertise (Must-Have)

- 8+ years cloud operations experience with 3+ years in leadership roles

- Expert-level AWS knowledge: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, ECS/EKS,

CloudFormation, Control Tower

- Advanced Well-Architected Framework expertise with hands-on implementation across all

six pillars.

- Infrastructure as Code mastery: Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK

- DevSecOps implementation: CI/CD security integration, policy-as-code, compliance

automation using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CodePipeline, etc.

- Advanced networking: VPC design, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, DNS, load balancing,

CDN

- Understanding of cloud security best practices compliance requirements (HIPAA, SOC2, ISO).

Operational Excellence (Must-Have)

- SRE practices: SLO/SLA management, error budgets, incident response, post-mortem

facilitation

- Automation expertise: Python/Bash scripting, workflow automation, self-healing systems

- Monitoring and alerting: Comprehensive observability stack design and implementation

Preferred Qualifications

- AWS Certifications: Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional,

Security Specialty

- Container orchestration: Kubernetes/EKS, Docker, service mesh implementation

- Multi-cloud experience: Azure Arc, Google Anthos for hybrid/multi-cloud strategies

- Advanced automation: Ansible, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools
