Job Description

Role & responsibilities

Position Summary:

Responsible for driving organisation wide manufacturing excellence programs to achieve operational excellence, cost competitiveness, and sustainability. Leads transformation initiatives through lean, TPM, Six Sigma, automation, and cultural change to make the organization globally competitive
Establish standards, implement digital IE practices, and drive innovation in work methods and capacity planning to achieve world-class apparel manufacturing performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy & Transformation

    • Define and execute the companys manufacturing excellence roadmap.
    • Lead lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and TQM initiatives across all factories.
    • Drive Industry automation, digital dashboards.
  • Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimization

    • Lead structured continuous improvement programs to reduce DHU (Defects per Hundred Units), and reduce production costs.
    • Implement benchmarking and best practices from global apparel industries.
    • Establish KPIs and governance systems for sustained improvements.
  • Sustainability & Compliance

    • Integrate sustainability into manufacturing processes (energy, water, waste reduction).
    • Ensure compliance with buyer codes, ethical standards, and environmental certifications.
    • Drive green factory initiatives.
  • Operational Excellence

    • Standardize processes across units to ensure uniformity and scalability.
    • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and planning teams to optimize order execution.
  • People & Cultural Leadership

    • Build a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
    • Develop leadership capability in manufacturing managers and supervisors.
    • Train teams in Lean, Six Sigma, and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Knowledge of GSD, IE Practices is needed as core competency.
  • Multi Product and multi country experience will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of machinery and patterns is critical.
  • Proven experience of driving Kaizen Projects in apparel industry is needed.
  • Should be able to travel 60% of the time to factories within India and outside as needed.
  • Remote management of teams will be needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors/Masters in Industrial Engineering, Production, or Textile/Garment Technology.
  • 18–25 years of experience in apparel/textile or related industries, with proven excellence program leadership.
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt/Master Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience leading multi-factory transformation projects.
