Automation Test Lead

Position Overview:

The Automation Lead designs and implements test automation frameworks and strategies for mobile telecom applications. This role ensures the efficiency and scalability of test automation processes across functional and non-functional testing efforts. This person selects appropriate automation tools, drives development of test scripts and maintenance of the automation framework. The Automation Lead works closely with the test teams to improve test efficiency and reduce manual effort.

Key Responsibilities:

Test Automation Framework:

Design, develop and maintain robust test automation frameworks for telco systems, including OSS/BSS, billing, CRM, and network monitoring applications.

Define automation strategies, evaluating and selecting tools and technologies that align with the telecom SDLC.

Test Automation Strategy:

Define the test automation strategy and identify automation opportunities.

Collaborate with test leads and domain SMEs to identify automation opportunities.

Prioritize test cases for automation.

Test Script Development:

Develop and maintain automation scripts.

Guide the team to develop and maintain high-quality automated test scripts.

Ensure test script reliability and maintainability, following best practices.

Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD):

Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline to support continuous testing.

Ensure timely execution of automated tests.

Optimize test scripts for performance and efficiency.

Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in the automation framework.

Key Expertise / Knowledge:

Experience in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Robot Framework, JUnit, TestNG).

Experience automating tests for mobile telco systems.

Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Bamboo), and containerization (e.g., Docker).
