Automation Engineer Python, Java and Workflow Management - Development Lead

As an Automation Engineer - Development Lead at Astellas, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions using your skills in Python, Java, and Workflow Management. Your main focus will be on improving efficiency and reducing manual effort in various processes. You will play a pivotal role in building, maintaining, and enhancing systems across the organization. This global opportunity will allow you to utilize your agile delivery skills, contribute to critical IT solutions, and work on a diverse range of initiatives. **Key Responsibilities:** - Develop and maintain automation frameworks for software or hardware systems. - Design, program, and test automated solutions and processes. - Design and implement robust and scalable applications for maximum speed using Python, Splunk, and other Automation languages. - Optimize existing automation solutions to enhance performance and reliability. - Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into workflows working with both Japanese and English. - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. - Analyze business process requirements to identify areas for workflow automation and optimization. - Design, develop, and test Python-based applications to support workflow management. - Implement and manage workflow management tools to streamline business processes ensuring security and data protection. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate user-facing workflow solutions with existing systems. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Masters preferred). - More than 5 years of experience in Python/Automation tool Development and Workflow Management. - Fluent in Japanese and English. - Strong understanding of Python libraries and frameworks. - 5-7 years of experience in Automation Solutions development and coding in other automation languages. - Knowledge of front-end technologies, database languages, and frameworks/libraries. - Experience in Agile Practices and SDLC. - Problem-solving skills and ability to analyze business processes. - Excellent communication skills. - Experience within Life Sciences/Pharma/Manufacturing industry is preferred. **Additional Details:** This permanent position will be hybrid 2-3 days/week and based in Bengaluru, India.
