Automation Engineer Python, Java and Workflow Management - Development Lead

As an Automation Engineer - Development Lead at Astellas, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions aimed at enhancing efficiency and reducing manual effort in various processes. Your expertise in Python, Java, and Workflow Management will be crucial as you analyze business processes, design automation strategies, develop scalable process automations, and provide training to end-users. You will play a significant role in building, maintaining, and improving systems across the organization, contributing to the continuous enhancement and delivery of critical IT solutions on a global scale. Your essential job responsibilities will include developing and maintaining automation frameworks, designing and testing automated solutions, optimizing existing automation solutions for improved performance, ensuring compliance with industry standards, collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate automation into workflows, and providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers. Additionally, you will analyze business process requirements, design Python-based applications for workflow management, implement workflow management tools, collaborate with teams to integrate user-facing workflow solutions with existing systems, monitor and troubleshoot workflow processes, document procedures, train users and developers, and stay updated on the latest trends in workflow management and Python development. To qualify for this role, you should hold a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (Masters preferred), with over 5 years of experience in Python/Automation tool Development and Workflow Management. Fluency in Japanese and English is required, along with a solid understanding of Python libraries and frameworks, automation languages, and front-end technologies. Additionally, experience in Agile practices, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills will be valuable assets in this position. Preferred qualifications include certifications in Python programming, automation platforms, machine learning, or artificial intelligence, as well as experience in Life Sciences/Pharma/Manufacturing industries. Strong technical proficiency in SQL, R, Python, and Java, coupled with expertise in machine learning techniques, statistical analysis, and data visualization, will be beneficial.
